Soft Reboot, Hard Regret

You trace the cable bundle to a socket labelled DO NOT TOUCH in three languages and one pictogram. You touch it.

The lights flicker. The screen goes dark. For a glorious second, silence reigns.

Then everything reboots, louder. The wall screen returns, now showing a new line: USER HAS SHOWN INITIATIVE. RISK SCORE: ELEVATED.

MANDATORY ORIENTATION pops back up, now with no skip link.

Sigh and accept that the video has won. Try pressing the socket again, just to see what happens.
You could still retreat to the comfort of the starting slab.
